Jens, why don't you introduce yourself and tell us who you are?

I have been working in the field of network and security for almost 30 years and have been with Nomios Germany for about three years now. I head up our service delivery team here.

What makes network and security exciting for you?

Networking is the foundation of everything in the digital world and yet hardly anyone thinks about it. It's like electricity and water - it's only when it fails that you realise its importance and unfortunately it then immediately becomes critical. That's exactly why my heart belongs to cyber security, which protects this basis. In short, the aim at Nomios is to enable digital life and secure it - for me, this is one of the most exciting IT jobs ever!

You are in charge of Service Delivery Management at Nomios in Germany. What exactly do you do?

We are carers. Carers in the sense of the customer. Unlike our colleagues in Sales, we evaluate and optimise the services provided by Nomios downstream. This also includes the technology in particular - whether it doesn't work as desired straight away or needs to be optimised bit by bit. Accordingly, we also act as a bridge between the service unit and the customer challenges. This sometimes requires a slightly thicker skin.

The job is perfect for anyone who is equally enthusiastic about complex technology and people. Ultimately, we are problem solvers who use our sound technical knowledge, empathy, creativity and communication to pave the way together.

So for whom is the job in Service Delivery suitable?

The job is perfect for anyone who is equally enthusiastic about complex technology and people. Ultimately, we are problem solvers who use our sound technical knowledge, empathy, creativity and communication to pave the way together. This means that you should already have worked in IT infrastructure and have a good command of German and English to be able to communicate at eye level. A good dose of curiosity also helps, as the development of systems is rapid and customer environments are always different.

Sounds like lateral entry potential too!

Absolutely. I'm not aware of any dedicated training programmes. But I would describe it more as lateral development potential. For example, someone who comes from sales and now wants to delve deeper into technology: Welcome to SDM. Or: If you are a technician who would have more fun if you could help customers personally without having to sell anything, then it's a great job. Or you want to try out or refine your pre-sales knowledge in practice - in Service Delivery Management you can always develop yourself by helping others.

If you would like to find out more about Nomios Germany for your next job in IT, contact Jens ([email protected]) or Katja ([email protected]).

By the way: We will plant a tree in your name for your submitted application!
