Permanently configured platforms with high capacity
7220 IXR-D and 7220 IXR-H offer high capacity, high density and fixed configuration platforms designed for leaf spine deployments in data centers. The Nokia 7220 IXR-D series is based on Broadcom Trident chipsets, which are characterized by extensive feature sets, high scalability and large buffer capacities. These platforms are primarily designed for ToR (Top-of-Rack) and leaf switch deployments and are also suitable for spine roles where extended L2 and L3 forwarding tables and large buffering reserves are required.
In contrast, the Nokia 7220 IXR-H series uses Broadcom Tomahawk chipsets, which are optimized for maximum raw throughput performance, very high port density and extremely low latency. With reduced buffers and significantly increased switching capacity, they are ideal for spine deployments where ultra-low latency and highest bandwidth requirements are paramount.
- With system capacities of up to 51.2 Tb/s, support for 800 GE, 400GE, 100GE, 50GE, 40GE, 25GE, 10GE or 1GE port speeds, hot-swappable and redundant power supplies & fans
- The 7220 IXRs are managed by Nokia's Event-Driven Automation (EDA) platform and provide highly reliable, simplified and adaptable data centre networks. EDA utilises the Kubernetes foundation to reduce risk and barriers to entry.
- The 7220 IXR uses Nokia SR Linux NOS, a unique architecture developed from scratch based on model-driven management and modern interfaces. You can count on simplified processes and integrations, ultimate transparency and unrivalled flexibility for your data centres.
